UTSA Student Government executive officers selected in run-off election

(March 22, 2018) — In the Student Government Association (SGA) run-off election held this week, the student body of The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) selected Mariah Crippen to serve as the 2018-2019 Student Body Vice President. Crippen previously served as freshman senator and is currently wrapping up her term as treasurer. As  vice president, Crippen will supports the president in serving the UTSA student body. 

Lorelle Jackson, currently an active member in SGA, was elected SGA Secretary for the 2018-19 academic year. In this position, Jackson will administer internal accountability measures and take minutes at all meetings of the SGA General Assembly and Executive Board.

Crippen and Jackson will join President-elect Brittany Garcia and Treasurer-elect Amber Shannon Barbosa, SGA’s President-Elect and Treasurer-Elect on the Executive Officer Team for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The new administration will take their oaths of office during the annual SGA Banquet and Inauguration Ceremony on April 8. Newly elected senators will also take office at that time. The officers will participate in a transition retreat on April 7 and the newly installed SGA members will conduct their first General Assembly meeting at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12 in the H-E-B Student Union Harris Room (HSU 2.212) on the Main Campus.
