(May 30, 2018) — The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has launched a national search to identify the university’s new Vice President for Information Management and Technology (VPIMT).
As previously announced by President Taylor Eighmy, the Vice President will oversee the direction of UTSA’s technology environment, developing campus-wide IT strategies and services contributing to the success of research, teaching and service at multicultural discovery enterprise.
The search committee, comprised of faculty, staff and students, will be chaired by Can Saygin, interim senior vice provost for institutional effectiveness and strategic initiatives. Lending additional expertise to the search process will be a technical advisory committee consisting of IT scholars and professionals from several academic and administrative units.
“A forward-thinking IT strategy is essential to UTSA’s upward trajectory,” said President Eighmy. “This individual will chart UTSA’s technological future through collaborative leadership, ensuring we are well positioned to achieve new levels of excellence as an intellectual community.”
The university has tapped executive search firm Korn Ferry to assist the search committee with its process. The new Vice President is expected to be appointed by September 1, 2018.
