(April 5, 2019) – UTSA alumnus Robert “Bob” Bryant ’96, ’99 is soaring to new heights as the newly appointed Director of Educational Technology at the United States Air Force Academy.
Bryant earned his bachelor’s in history and master’s in education from UTSA before completing his doctorate in education at Regents University. He credits much of his success to the influence of his UTSA professors.
“My 30 year career of helping young people can be directly attributable to the powerful influences provided by the UTSA community,” said Bryant. “I will be forever grateful.”
After becoming the first published researcher in the world to apply predictive analytics using machine learning to address completion rates in massive open online courses, Bryant taught in the computer information systems and quantitative methods department as an adjunct professor at Texas State University and subsequently served as an instructional designer for the Alamo Colleges District. Prior to this, Bryant retired from serving seventeen years as the principal and academic dean at San Marcos Baptist Academy. During the time, he served three presidents and facilitated the education of hundreds of adolescents and young adults.
The U.S. Air Force Academy is one of only five military service academies, the leading colleges that prepare young men and women for military leadership and service.
