(May 13, 2019) — Something many alumni say they want and need from UTSA long after they graduate are career services—resume review, career transition guidance and networking. A new program is making it more convenient for alumni to take advantage.
UTSA Career Services and the UTSA Alumni Association are partnering and recently launched Career Talk Tuesdays. Every second Tuesday of the month, a career counselor will hold office hours in the Katz Alumni Center in the Bauerle Road Garage on Main Campus. It is convenient to park in the garage and walk to the office in the same building to talk with someone about job hunting, resume writing, career transitions and more.
While alumni have always been able to access advice and services through the UTSA Career Center and their website, it may not always be convenient to come during the typical open hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
“Alumni have asked us to help make these kinds of services available at times and locations that are most convenient to them,” said Steve Woodall ’11, interim executive director of the UTSA Alumni Association. “We are thrilled that the Career Center staff has been open to making it possible to offer help for alumni outside of the usual 8-5 hours and in a location that makes it easier for alumni to visit.”
The next opportunity is May 14, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Alumni can email [email protected] to reserve a 30-minute session, or walk-in for first come, first-served meetings. Alumni do not have to be members of the UTSA Alumni Association to take advantage of this service.
