(May 30, 2019) — Conference USA unveiled its broadcast schedule for the 2019 season today and UTSA now has 11 of its 12 regular season games selected for either traditional linear television or streaming and social media.
The Roadrunners will open their ninth season of play on Saturday, Aug. 31, when they host UIW at the Alamodome. The first meeting between the two teams will air at 5 p.m. on ESPN3.
UTSA’s road opener on Sept. 7 at Baylor will be televised on Fox Sports Networks. Kickoff for the third meeting between the Roadrunners and Bears is slated for 3 p.m. in Waco, where UTSA scored a 17-10 win in 2017 for the program’s first victory against a team from a Power Five conference.
UTSA will host Army West Point at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 in the Alamo City. The inaugural matchup between the Roadrunners and Black Knights will be televised nationally on NFL Network as part of the league’s new four-year agreement with the NFL to broadcast 10 games per season on the network.
“We’re very excited about the 2019 football schedule,” UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos said. “Today’s announcement with broadcast information and kickoff times for most of our games has us even more anxious for the season to begin. The home game against Army will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase our program, the university and the city of San Antonio in front of a national TV audience.”

The Roadrunners will face a pair of in-state opponents on the road the following two weeks. UTSA’s conference opener at North Texas is slated for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff on Stadium on Facebook, while its fourth visit to the Sun Bowl in El Paso to face UTEP will kick at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN+.
UTSA will return to the Alamo City for back-to-back home games against UAB on ESPN+ and Rice on ESPN3, and both league contests are pegged for 5 p.m. kickoffs.
The Roadrunners also host consecutive C-USA contests at the Alamodome the following month as Southern Miss (Nov. 16) and Florida Atlantic visit for 5 p.m. broadcasts on ESPN+.
“When selecting game times, we considered feedback from our fans, students and community partners,” Campos said. “We believe the 5 p.m. kickoffs are family friendly and will give Roadrunner fans a chance to experience all that downtown San Antonio has to offer both before and after our games at the Alamodome.”
The Roadrunners have a pair of road dates in the final month of the regular season, as they will play Old Dominion at 1 p.m. CT on Nov. 9 for an ESPN3 broadcast and at Louisiana Tech at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 30 on ESPN+.
UTSA also will travel for the second time to Texas A&M on Nov. 2 and that game’s TV selection and kickoff time are expected to be announced at a later date.
The 2019 C-USA Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7, will air on CBS Sports Network at 1:30 p.m. CT.
