(Aug. 5, 2019) – The UTSA Office of Information Technology has named Jenell Bramlage as its new senior associate vice president of Information Management and Strategic Services. Bramlage brings to UTSA more than 24 years of experience in higher education leadership.
Bramlage will oversee the new IT portfolio management group comprised of business relationship managers and the strategic services team. She will also spearhead the IT portfolio governance launch and assist with campus-wide data governance initiatives.
“Dr. Bramlage’s leadership in higher education information and data management makes her an ideal fit to assist in leading UTSA’s digital transformation,” said Kendra Ketchum, UTSA vice president for information management and technology. “She has insights from all service areas within higher education, lending a unique perspective in portfolio and data management across the enterprise.”
Bramlage will join the university from Bucks County Community College in Pa., where she has served as the executive director of Institutional Research and Assessment for the past four years. As a direct report to the institution’s president, this role allowed her to acquire and hone leadership skills and the technical knowledge to foster data-driven decision-making.
Throughout her time at Bucks County Community College, she held an array of leadership positions including serving as the co-chair of the campus-wide Assessment and Planning Advisory Group. In this position, she served in an integral role, overseeing the campus’ strategic planning, operational assessment and institutional effectiveness initiatives.
Bramlage’s start in the higher education field began 20 years ago at the University of Northwestern Ohio, where she worked until 2015. Her career there included an array of leadership and faculty positions, such as the associate vice president for Academic Affairs, a professor and subsequently the chair of the university’s department of management, marketing and business, as well as the director of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness.
With tremendous expertise and experience in the accreditation field, Bramlage has also worked for regional and national accreditation bodies in the U.S. for a combined total of more than 10 years. These include the Higher Learning Commission and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, where she was selected to serve as an assessment e-mentor and accreditation liaison officer, respectively.
“Dr. Bramlage will be instrumental in launching our governance and strategic services at UTSA, and in contributing to the overall mission of the university,” said Ketchum.
Bramlage obtained a Ph.D. in Organization and Management, with a specialization in leadership, from Capella University and an M.B.A from the University of Findlay.
She begins her new role at UTSA on Aug. 12.
