Sept. 25, 2019 — Editor’s Note: UTSA President Taylor Eighmy, Provost Kimberly Andrews Espy and SVP for Business Affairs Veronica Mendez jointly sent this email to UTSA faculty, staff and students today.

Dear Roadrunners,

Earlier this month, we reached out to seek your input on a new name for the Main Campus. The survey saw enthusiastic participation with approximately 4,000 responses.

The results of the survey indicated that our community prefers to keep the name Main Campus. We heard you loud and clear, Roadrunners, and we will not pursue plans to rename the Main Campus at this time. Given the general level of satisfaction with the names of UTSA’s other campuses, their names will remain as well.

The vision for UTSA as one university with multiple campuses remains steadfast. Main Campus, Downtown Campus, Park West Campus and Hemisfair Campus each brings value and distinctive strengths to the university, and will continue to play vital roles as UTSA evolves in the decades to come.

Thank you, as always, for your loyalty and your dedication to UTSA, and for sharing your ideas and thoughts with us.
