OCTOBER 23, 2020 — As part of its commitment to supporting local high school students and their families, UTSA is launching a new program called ISD Saturdays, which will start in November and continue into the spring 2021 semester.

Throughout the year UTSA collaborates with local organizations and hosts a wide range of virtual recruitment initiatives. ISD Saturdays is another opportunity to connect with students online from the comfort and safety of their homes.

“UTSA is here to provide opportunities for them to attend an exceptional university close to home.”

ISD Saturdays is a one-hour virtual experience designed to connect with students in the San Antonio area and help them prepare for college. The event is hosted by university experts and student leaders and will introduce local students to Roadrunner Life, connect them to their area’s admissions counselor and showcase why UTSA is a university of choice.

“There are so many talented students in San Antonio,” said Lynn Barnes, senior vice provost for strategic enrollment. “UTSA is here to provide opportunities for them to attend an exceptional university close to home that will give them an affordable and quality education.”

ISD Saturdays will feature topics on access and affordability, how to experience Roadrunner Nation and the necessary steps every student needs to take to complete their UTSA admissions checklist.

Check out these upcoming ISD Saturdays topics:

  • November 7: Access & Affordability
  • November 21: Get Rowdy & Experience Roadrunner Nation
  • December 5: Making a List and Checking It Twice

“ISD Saturdays will strengthen current relationships with high schools across the city and share available resources with Future Roadrunners, such as Bold Promise and Rowdy Bot,” said Beverly Woodson Day, senior director of undergraduate recruitment.
