NOVEMBER 20, 2020 — Three UTSA groups will join forces to collect toys for San Antonio military children this holiday season. The Rowdy Warrior Military Veterans Alliance employee affinity group, the Center for Military Families and the Center for Military Affiliated Students will collaborate with Operation Homefront’s Holiday Toy Drive, benefiting local children of all ages.

These UTSA groups will be collecting unwrapped toys for children ages 11 to 18 years old and will host three days of scheduled toy drive-by stations on both the Main Campus and Downtown Campus.

“We are pleased to be a part of this event dedicated to helping military children have a brighter holiday season,” said Kat Carrillo, UTSA Alliance Affinity Group board member. “San Antonio is Military City, USA, and UTSA is a military-friendly–recognized campus. It is important that we come together to let our military community know how much we care about their families during these extraordinary and challenging times. We invite the UTSA community to mask up and drive by to drop off many toys this year.”

The mission of the Rowdy Warrior Military Veterans Alliance is to promote the inclusion of a diverse community and culture of veterans, their family members and supporters at UTSA.

The Center for Military Families focuses on making a positive difference in education, health and the overall well-being of military families in San Antonio.
