FEBRUARY 18, 2021 — The university recognizes that the events of this week have been extremely challenging. Should you find yourself needing additional support during this crisis, UTSA has resources available.
Student Emergency Resources
The Student Emergency Fund will provide $100 grants to eligible full- or part-time enrolled students in need of essential supplies. The grants will be awarded through UTSA’s Financial Aid office and therefore tax-exempt. To apply, please complete the UTSA emergency aid application. In the comments div, be sure to mention the winter storm and provide a description of your situation and need. Funds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted.
There are additional emergency resources available to UTSA students. Please contact UTSA One Stop should you need to speak with a counselor or if you have any questions.
Employee Emergency Resources
The Staff Emergency Fund will provide $200 grants to eligible full-time staff members and full-time fixed-term-track faculty in need of essential supplies. In light of the weather crisis, a streamlined application process is now in place. To apply please complete this form, providing a description of your situation and need. If you have questions, contact Cheri Wiese at [email protected] or 210-452-2560. Funds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted.
For semimonthly payroll employees, payments for approved applications received by Wednesday, February 24 will be made in the March 5 payroll. For monthly payroll employees, payments for approved applications received by Friday, March 12 will be made in the April 1 payroll.
Warming Stations on Main Campus
UTSA students, faculty and staff in need of a temporary space to warm up, recharge their phones or access wi-fi service may use the warming stations in the John Peace Library and on the ground floor of the Main Building.
Roadrunner Pantry
The Roadrunner Pantry provides food and personal care items to members of the UTSA community. The pantry will be open noon to 4 p.m. through Sunday.
We look forward to supporting our Roadrunner community in this time of need.
