MARCH 3, 2021Editor’s note: President Taylor Eighmy and UTSA leadership today issued the following statement regarding Executive Order GA-34 via an email to all faculty, staff and students:

Yesterday, Governor Abbott issued Executive Order GA-34, which altered the state’s mask mandate and business occupancy limits. This executive order goes into effect Wednesday, March 10, 2021.

We are awaiting input from UT System about the implications of GA-34 and its effect on UTSA’s current operations, as well as on our planning for the summer and fall terms, campus events, commencement, etc. Until then, our campus operations remain the same. UTSA’s Public Health Task Force will develop recommendations on best practices going forward as each of us continues to do our part to protect the health and safety of our community.

We understand the Roadrunner community’s desire for clarity and further information and will be sure to provide additional updates as soon as possible.
