APRIL 13, 2022 — UTSA Day of Service is an annual tradition and an opportunity for UTSA students, faculty, staff, alumni and families to volunteer and give back to San Antonio.
This year’s event will begin at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at the UTSA Convocation Center.
It is the largest UTSA service event of the year, with 600-800 volunteers and approximately 20-25 community partners.
This year’s projects will include community gardening, painting youth centers, landscaping, animal sanctuary maintenance, resource room restocking and other arts and crafts projects.
“It’s amazing to witness the impact of our combined efforts to support agencies in our own community.”
Hosted by UTSA Leadership and Volunteer Services, the event also serves as UTSA’s contribution to The University of Texas System’s United to Serve volunteer initiative, which challenges each campus in the system to develop a unique service activity.
“Giving back is part of what it means to be a Roadrunner,” said Victoria Rodriguez, UTSA assistant director of Leadership and Volunteer Services. “It’s amazing to witness the impact of our combined efforts to support agencies in our own community.”
The Day of Service kick-off will include free breakfast and other welcome activities. Participants will receive a Day of Service T-shirt.
