BACK TO CLASS

AUGUST 30, 2022 — Roadrunners looking to grab a bite to eat on Main Campus have two new dining locations to check out this fall: Rising Roll Gourmet Café and Freshens Fresh Food Studio.

These new locations support the ongoing mission of Campus Services and UTSA Dining to enhance the campus experience by offering a broad variety of delicious, healthy dining options that fit every Roadrunner’s nutritional needs and preferences.

Like many UTSA Dining retail locations, Rising Roll and Freshens offer select $7 meal deals, which meal-plan holders can purchase with dining dollars and meal trades.

Rising Roll Gourmet Café

The Student Union food court’s newest addition, Rising Roll, offers gourmet sandwiches, salads, soups and breakfast dishes, made in-house each day from fresh ingredients. Rising Roll is a great place to stop for your daily coffee fix, as they proudly serve a full Starbuck’s coffee menu.

Breakfast options include burritos, avocado toast, croissant breakfast sandwiches and cinnamon rolls. Hot and cold gourmet sandwiches featuring a variety of ingredients to choose from are served up on fresh-baked breads including multigrain boules, French boules, croissants and Cuban bread. Looking for a bread-free meal option? They also serve wraps, grain bowls, salads and smoothies.

Freshens Fresh Food Studio

Located in the John Peace Library food court, Freshens Fresh Food Studio offers fresh, responsibly sourced, healthy options that are customizable to meet a broad range of nutritional needs and lifestyles. The Freshens menu has something for everyone, including guests looking for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and allergen-friendly choices.

Breakfast options include breakfast sandwiches served on sourdough bread, breakfast pockets—scrambled eggs and selected ingredients wrapped in a toasted tortilla—and açai bowls. The core, or everyday menu, includes a wide variety of grilled flatbreads, crispy crepe salads, rice bowls and 100% clean fresh-blended smoothies. A rotating menu of “trending now” items features limited-time selections such as artisan melts and pizzas, pasta bakes, quesadillas and more.
