DECEMBER 6, 2022 — The Roadrunner community is taking part in a new event to honor UTSA’s fall 2022 graduates. The Roadrunner Walk will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, on the UTSA Main Campus. The walk will give graduates one more opportunity to walk across campus, as family members, friends, and UTSA faculty and staff cheer their accomplishments.

The walk is taking the place of the UTSA Commencement Drive—which began in May of 2020 as a safe way to celebrate the achievements of graduating Roadrunners during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Roadrunner Walk carries on this tradition of bringing the Roadrunner community together to celebrate the achievements of UTSA graduates.

Graduating students will gather at 3 p.m. near the Recreation Wellness Center, where the Paseo intersects Brenan Ave. Participants are encouraged to wear their regalia. Participating graduates will walk together along the Paseo Principal to the base of the steps by the Student Union entrance. Members of the university community will be stationed all along the route to cheer them.

Family members and friends of graduates are invited to campus to take part in this celebration. A special area will be set up for guests by the Freebirds patio area. Free parking will be available in the Brackenridge 1 and 2 Lots. Out-of-town viewers can watch a livestream of the event on the @UTSA Instagram channel.
