The UTSA University Health Professions Office (UHPO) will host its annual Health Professions Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 23 in the H-E-B Student Union (HSU 1.104) Ballrooms on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

UHPO invites UTSA students, area college and high school students and community members to attend this event, which will feature more than 60 representatives from health professions programs.

Each year, over 300 students attend this event and gain information about admissions requirements and application procedures for various health professions programs. Representatives from medical, dental, pharmaceutical, nursing programs and more will participate in this year’s fair.

Careers in the health care industry are expansive and will continue to be in demand. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment in health care occupations is projected to grow 13% from 2021 to 2031, an increase that is expected to result in about two million new jobs over the decade. The UHPO health professions fair is a great opportunity for exploring the specialized training needed for a career in the health care industry.
