JANUARY 15, 2024 — San Antonio’s MLK March has been cancelled due to icy conditions. Officials are urging people to stay off the roads due to the winter weather.
On Sunday, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which remains in effect from through noon today.
UTSA will continue to monitor conditions and provide additional information on campus operations as needed. The university will share weather-related announcements, changes to business operations and instructional activities, including delayed start times or the suspension of in-person classes, meetings and programming on campus, on its official (@UTSA) Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter) channels and on UTSA Today.
JANUARY 14, 2024 — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which remains in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday through noon on Monday.
With some precipitation expected in the forecast, the City of San Antonio and Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission have announced a one-hour delay of the Martin Luther King, Jr. March to 11 a.m. tomorrow morning. Lineup for the March will begin at 10 a.m.

JANUARY 9, 2024 — Students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families are invited to commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in San Antonio’s 37th annual MLK Jr. March, starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 15. The 2.75-mile march draws more than 300,000 participants annually, making it the largest MLK march in the nation.
The march will begin at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Academy, located at 3501 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., and will conclude with a community celebration at Pittman-Sullivan Park, located at 1101 Iowa St.
UTSA will provide transportation to and from the march, from both the Main and Downtown campuses. Friends and family are also welcome to ride on the bus to the event. The Main Campus shuttle will depart from the Convocation Center while the Downtown Campus shuttle will depart from the Durango Lot.
The UTSA community will also participate in its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday.
Roadrunners are encouraged to volunteer at the MLK Day March from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. by distributing programs, assisting with set up and closing services, and engaging the San Antonio community.
