FEBRUARY 19, 2024 — Today marks the start of UTSA’s second annual Celebrate Teaching Week, series of events and activities that celebrate and recognize innovative teaching while providing tools to help Roadrunner faculty hone their craft.
“At the heart of Celebrate Teaching Week lies the spirit of collaboration and interdisciplinary exchange,” said Jennifer Dilley, Distinguished Teaching Professor of History and current chair of the UTSA Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS). “Through networking events and collaborative sessions, educators from diverse disciplines will come together to share innovative teaching approaches, forge meaningful connections and explore potential collaborations.”
Designed to inspire dialogue and innovation in teaching practices that support students’ academic and career outcomes, Celebrate Teaching Week offers a range of activities and events, including a student panel discussion on transformative teaching, an interactive workshop on fostering respectful discourse in the classroom and a teaching showcase on innovative teaching strategies.
Additionally, each college will host a special celebration for its faculty to foster pride and camaraderie within the college community.
