FEBRUARY 12, 2024 — With spring Commencement just a few months away, many students are contemplating ways to translate their academic achievements into a satisfying career.
The University Career Center (UCC) will host two in-person career expos this month to help students and alumni connect with potential employers, including:

Participants will explore various industries, gain insights from industry leaders and establish meaningful connections with top employers to advance their careers.
Combined, the expos will feature more than 80 employers including but not limited to recruiters from Accenture Federal Services, Cintas Corp, Enterprise Mobility, ENTRUST Solutions Group, GM Financial, H-E-B, Marathon Petroleum Co LP, National Security Agency, OCI Solar Power LLC, Southwest Research Institute, SWBC, Union Pacific Railroad and USAA.
To help students make the best impression possible in front of potential employers, the UCC is offering virtual workshops on resume writing and job/internship search strategies leading up to the career expos. Students can take advantage of drop-in hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the day before each expo to visit with a career consultant, ask questions, and obtain feedback about their resume. To increase their chances of success at the career expos, students and alumni who plan to attend should:
- Research the companies that will be attending the STEM and All Majors career expos.
- Review this professional networking checklist for networking best practices.
- Share a resume that is in great shape. Use these resume samples and VMock to optimize resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and elevator pitches.
- Visit the Iris Booth to take a professional headshot.
- Dress appropriately. The dress code for the expos is business casual.
The UCC helps Roadrunners discover, pursue and achieve their unique career goals by offering career and job search tools and resources, including individual counseling, mock interviews, resume reviews and professional networking assistance. It is one of seven units within the UTSA division of Career-Engaged Learning, which provides students with hands-on learning opportunities on campus and in the community.
