SEPTEMBER 4, 2024 — The UTSA Division of Academic Affairs has announced the promotion of 125 faculty members, effective September 1.
“I’m proud of the extraordinary faculty we have at UTSA, and their remarkable achievements in advancing the university’s teaching, research and service missions,” said Heather Shipley, UTSA provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “Their work both within and beyond the university inspires and prepares our students for future success while also propelling UTSA’s national reputation as a model for student success and research excellence.”
Among the tenured and tenure-track faculty, 22 were promoted to associate professor with tenure. Faculty earn tenure based on their accomplishments in each of three categories of performance: teaching, research/scholarship/creative activities, and service.
