NOVEMBER 28, 2024 — This holiday season, the UTSA Office of Veteran and Military Affairs is partnering with Paws for Purple Hearts to support their mission of helping veterans and active-duty members through the love of service dogs.

Paws for Purple Hearts is a nonprofit organization that trains service dogs for active military members and veterans.

“It’s important because of what service dogs do to help veterans,” said William Lansdon, senior program manager for the university’s Veteran and Military Affairs office. “We’ve seen the service dogs literally save lives and change lives.”

The holiday drive is accepting dog toys, treats and cleaning supplies until Thursday, December 19. Donations can be dropped off at the UTSA Center for Military Affiliated Students (JPL 1.12).
