APRIL 29, 2025 — Today is the last day to vote early in the upcoming Bexar County May 3 joint general, special and bond election.
UTSA encourages eligible students, faculty, staff and community members to cast their votes at the Main Campus, a designated early voting site. The university’s polling location, located in the H-E-B Student Union, will be open today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This election includes the City of San Antonio mayoral race, which has 27 candidates, and all 10 city council district seats. It will also include the Alamo Colleges District bond election.
Additionally, various city and school board positions and propositions for the cities of Alamo Heights, Balcones Heights, Hill Country Village, Hollywood Park, Kirby, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Olmos Park, Universal City and Von Ormy are on the ballot.
Here are some resources to help voters prepare before they head to the polls:
- Check your voter registration status on the Bexar County Elections Department website or at Vote411.org.
- Access a sample ballot.
- Review a nonpartisan voter’s guide. The League of Women Voters of San Antonio offers a voter’s guide in English, Spanish and Arabic.
Any registered Bexar County voter may vote at the H-E-B Student Union Bexar Room (HSU 1.102) on the UTSA Main Campus. Free voter parking is available in the northern div of the Ximenes Ave. Lot, just south of the H-E-B Student Union.
The Downtown Campus community can vote early at the nearby Bexar County Elections Office, located at 1103 S. Frio St in San Antonio. Additional polling locations can be found on the Bexar County Elections Department website.
Voters will need to show a valid photo ID or secondary supporting ID.
Curbside voting is available for those who need assistance by calling 210-335-VOTE (8683) in advance. Voters with visual impairments can cast their ballots via the OmniBallot accessible absentee portal.
Candidates must secure at least 50% of the vote to win. If none of the candidates get 50% of the vote in the May 3 election, the top two finishers will head to a June 7 runoff election.
