UTSA Roadrunners to meet Tulane Green Wave on Thursday at the Alamodome

The UTSA home game between the Roadrunners and Tulane Green Wave is Thursday, Oct. 30, with kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Alamodome.

The American Conference matchup against Tulane will serve as UTSA’s Lights Out game with the Roadrunners wearing black uniforms. UTSA will don black jerseys and black pants with a white helmet for the nationally televised home contest against the Green Wave. Fans are encouraged to wear black.

With UTSA hosting this week’s Thursday night ESPN broadcast, SportsCenter will air live from UTSA’s Main Campus from 1-2 p.m. Students and fans are invited to gather at Rowdy Lawn in front of the Student Union at 12:30 p.m. to be part of the national broadcast of the network’s flagship sports news program, which will highlight the university’s traditions and San Antonio’s culture and history and feature a live interview with head coach Jeff Traylor.

Paid public parking is available in the Tobin Avenue and Ximenes Avenue garages. SportsCenter will go live from inside the Alamodome during the 4 p.m. hour, prior to the 6:30 p.m. game.

How to get game tickets

Tickets are on sale by calling or texting 210-458-UTSA (8872) or visiting Ticketmaster.com. UTSA has transitioned to digital tickets through Account Manager. For more information, visit goutsa.com/tickets.

All students currently enrolled at UTSA are eligible for free admission to all home football games. UTSA students may purchase up to four guest tickets for the student section.

For walk-up sales, the Alamodome Southwest Box Office will open at 10 a.m., and all other Alamodome box offices will open at 4 p.m. Customer service windows are located at the Northeast and Southeast box offices.

Game day experience

UTSA Athletics is offering enhanced game day experience opportunities such as videoboard messages, early-bird experience, pregame sideline passes and concessions roundup, all of which will give fans the chance to get closer to the action and enhance the experience for season-ticket holders. Fans also are encouraged to direct their attention to the center-hung video board after each UTSA touchdown for the “NIL Flash Give” where they can scan the QR code on display. The linked Bold Champions page will allow UTSA fans to support the football program.

Fan giveaways

The first 5,000 fans to enter the Alamodome when gates open to the public will receive a UTSA-branded glow stick. As fans exit the stadium, Pluckers will be handing out coupons for five free wings if UTSA wins and KFC will also be handing out coupons for a free sandwich.

Here’s what else you need to know

The Alamodome Clear Bag Policy is in effect all season.

Fans are advised to plan ahead, arrive early for parking options or utilize VIA’s Park & Ride. For a look at downtown street and lane closures, visit sanantonio.gov.

Doors open to the public at 5 p.m. Please enter the stadium well before kickoff to avoid long lines. Speed lanes will be available at security checkpoints for those with no bags. Have your keys, phone and wallet out before getting to the scanners, and be sure your tickets are out or loaded on your phone with the screen brightness turned all the way up before reaching the doors.

Season ticketholders will have a dedicated entrance at Gate 3 near the northeast corner that also opens at 5 p.m. Season ticket holders can show their digital tickets or pick up a wristband at Gate 3 to access dedicated concession stands in Section 110 (Johnny Rockets) and Section 136 (Chikis Texican Grill).

Student seating is general admission within Sections 122-131. The Spirit of San Antonio band will occupy Sections 127-128.

Parking in Alamodome Lots A, B and C is limited to fans who have already purchased permits. Alamodome Lots A, B and C will open at 12 p.m. for those with valid parking passes. Please do not enter the lots prior to the scheduled opening time or staff will ask you to vacate your spot and re-enter once the lots are open. The Alamodome parking lots close to tailgating one hour after the conclusion of the game.

Limited ADA parking spots are available in Lot A on a first-come, first-served basis. By state law, veterans with Disabled Veteran plates that do NOT have a valid state-issued disability placard are not permitted to park in ADA-accessible spaces. The Disabled Veteran and ADA state-issued accessibility placard are two separate designations.

There are several paid public parking lots in the general vicinity of the Alamodome and downtown San Antonio. For the City’s available downtown parking, visit sanantonio.gov.

Alamodome parking lots will open at noon and close one hour after the game concludes. For more information and City of San Antonio tailgating guidelines, please visit goUTSA.com.

The drop-off and pick-up location for rideshare users is located in Parking Lot D next to the Henry B. González Convention Center at the corner of Montana Street and Tower of the Americas Way.

Via will offer Park & Ride Service with roundtrip travel to the Alamodome for just $2.60 with reduced fares for students, military and others who qualify. Service will be provided from Crossroads Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd.

Fans have several convenient ways to pay. Passes can be purchased online, at the Park & Ride location or through the goMobile+ app. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride location.

UTSA students can use their U-Pass for service to the game. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride for free. VIA bus passes are not valid for this service. VIA’s Day Pass, 7-Day Pass, 31-Day Pass and U-Pass are valid for Special Event Service.

New this year for students and their guests, IKEA will have signage displayed on the North Paseo Bus Oval and Alamodome for pick-up and drop-off locations for free shuttle service to and from the Alamodome for home football games. Shuttles will begin service to the Alamodome at 3:30 p.m. Passengers will be dropped off at the Robert Thompson Transit Station at the Alamodome, where the return journey will begin at the start of the fourth quarter, with the last one departing an hour after the game ends.

The UTSA Roadrunners mobile app allows fans to enjoy a personalized mobile experience with the ability to manage tickets, shop for official UTSA Athletics merchandise and receive breaking news and score notifications for the teams they follow. Visit the App Store or Google Play and search for “UTSA Roadrunners.”

To be part of the Rowdy Light Show during introductions, download/update the UTSA Roadrunners app, click on the MORE menu option at the bottom, then click on Rowdy Light Show and accept all permissions.

Rowdy Town Live

Located in the H-E-B Plaza and VIA Bridge on the north side of the Alamodome, Rowdy Town Live will open at 3:30 p.m. and is completely free for all UTSA fans to take part in pregame festivities which include a live DJ set and family-friendly carnival-style attractions, including a video game truck, inflatables and more.

These sponsors will have activations in Rowdy Town Live:  BMW, BeatBox, Cowboys AC, Gold’s Gym, Nerd Focus, Prado Student Living, Raising Cane’s, Space Force, and U.S. Army.

Additional sponsor activations on the concourse inside the Alamodome include Resort Vacations (Section 103), BMW (Section 104), Texas Air National Guard (Section 119), and U.S. Army (Section 122).

How to watch on TV

Thursday night’s game will be televised nationally on ESPN and available on the ESPN app. Calling the action will be Matt Barrie (play-by-play), Tom Luginbill (analyst) and Harry Lyles Jr. (reporter).

UTSA Sports Media Network will air the game live in the San Antonio area on Sports Radio AM 760 The Ticket, online at ticket760.com and via the free iHeartRadio app. Andy Everett (play-by-play), Jay Riley (analyst) and Ed Suarez (reporter) have the call. There will be a two-hour pregame show hosted by Pat Evans and a 45-minute postgame show.
