The UTSA Roadrunners are hoping to extend two impressive streaks with a victory on Saturday. One is their 22-game winning streak in regular-season conference games at home, and the other is their five-year streak as a bowl game participant.
The stakes certainly will be high when UTSA hosts East Carolina on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Alamodome. The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m.
The Roadrunners (5-5 overall; 3-3 in the American Conference) are coming off their first road win of the season, defeating Charlotte by a score of 28-7 last Saturday. UTSA’s defense overwhelmed the 49ers all afternoon, limiting them to just 197 yards on offense. Shad Banks Jr. paced the defense with eight tackles, while Tyan Milton made six stops and intercepted a Charlotte pass.
UTSA returns this weekend to the Alamodome, where the Roadrunners have never lost a conference game under head coach Jeff Traylor. Since Traylor’s first season at UTSA in 2020, the Roadrunners are a perfect 22-0 in regular-season conference home games (and 24-0 when including the 2021 and 2022 Conference USA Championship Games hosted at the Alamodome).
UTSA is the only team in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) with an undefeated record in regular-season conference home games in the 2020s.
On Saturday, the Roadrunners will need their fans to turn up the volume in the Alamodome as they take on a formidable East Carolina squad. The Pirates (7-3 overall; 5-1 in the American Conference) are in the midst of their most promising season since a 10-win campaign in 2013 and find themselves just a half-game behind Navy for first place in the American Conference.
East Carolina has won four games in a row and will be highly motivated to keep its conference championship hopes alive against UTSA.

“Fansgiving” is the theme for Saturday’s game. UTSA Athletics and several local sponsors will hold promotions throughout the game in which fans in attendance can earn prizes.
When the game concludes, 10,000 Taco Cabana cups will be distributed to fans as they exit the stadium. If UTSA wins, Pluckers will be handing out coupons for five free wings and KFC will be handing out coupons for a free sandwich. A digital coupon will also be available for fans via the McDonald’s app.
After the first quarter, Raising Cane’s coupons will be distributed in the student section.
