UT San Antonio Giving Day is officially underway, launching at noon today and continuing through noon on April 2. The university’s annual fundraising campaign brings together alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends for a 48-hour celebration of generosity, supporting the university’s students, academics, research and programs that make lives better.

Donors can support a wide range of funds across UT San Antonio, including academic colleges and schools, student programs, Roadrunner Athletics, UT San Antonio Libraries and Museums, the Roadrunner Food Pantry as well as scholarships and endowments. For the first time, Giving Day also includes opportunities to support initiatives connected to UT Health San Antonio, advancing research, patient care and medical education.

Throughout the 48-hour event, donors can maximize their impact through a variety of matching gifts, special challenges and Power Hours designed to build momentum and friendly competition across the university.

Power Hours

Power Hours give colleges, programs and departments opportunities to rally support during key two-hour windows, building energy across campus and encouraging friendly competition. The area that secures the most donors during each window will receive a $2,000 prize to support their fund.

Power Hours will take place at key times throughout Giving Day:

  • March 31: noon to 2 p.m., 6 to 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • April 1: 8 to 10 a.m., 6 to 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • April 2: 10 a.m. to noon

“Giving Day is about people showing up for what they care about,” said Karl Miller-Lugo, senior vice president for advancement and alumni engagement. “You see alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends rally around scholarships, programs and initiatives that have made a difference in their lives. That collective support is what makes this day so meaningful.”
