This email from Heather Shipley, PhD, provost and senior executive vice president for Academic Affairs and Francisco G. Cigarroa, MD, senior executive vice president for health affairs and health system, was sent to faculty and staff of the academic and health campuses.

Following our university’s strategic planning initiative town hall — at which we saw tremendous energy, pride and a clear sense of shared purpose — we are following up to request your participation as we begin shaping the future of UT San Antonio.

As President Eighmy shared in his March 17 message, the strategic planning initiative represents a defining moment for our university. Building on the momentum of our recent integration, this 10-year plan will serve as our north star — guiding how we advance excellence in education, research and discovery, health, and community impact for the decade ahead and far beyond.

As the co-sponsors of this university-wide initiative, we invite you to share your perspective so that our collective vision and aspirations can be fully realized in our shared plan. Your input is essential, as it will ground the early work of the strategic planning steering committee and lay the foundation for our forthcoming working sessions.

We invite you to contribute your voice through a brief community input opportunity, helping shape the future of our shared work.

Please take time to reflect on the questions and opportunities, especially around how we can strengthen access and excellence, expand discovery and innovation, transform life-changing care, and increase opportunity and impact for all those we serve.

Thank you in advance for your partnership, your insight and your continued dedication to UT San Antonio. Together, we are shaping a new kind of university — one that reimagines how education, research, innovation and health come together to serve our community and define the future.
