UT San Antonio and UT Health San Antonio will resume normal operations for faculty, staff and students on Friday, July 17. All classes, programs and campus activities will take place as scheduled.
Students who have questions related to classwork and assignments should contact their professors or instructors for guidance.
Employees experiencing ongoing issues related to the flooding this week should contact their supervisor for guidance.
UPDATE: Wednesday, July 15, 2026 • 8:15 p.m.
Due to continued severe weather, flooding and anticipated additional rainfall across the San Antonio area, all classes and labs scheduled for Thursday, July 16 will be conducted remotely. This applies to students with classes at the Main Campus and Downtown Campus.
Impacted students are encouraged to reach out to their instructors regarding class attendance, assignments and any needed academic accommodations. Students who anticipate further disruptions to their studies or who need additional assistance, should contact Student Assistance Services to connect with appropriate resources.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to consult with department leaders and supervisors regarding scheduling, staffing and other weather-related issues.
Employees with essential job functions should plan to report to work if it is safe to travel. Otherwise, contact your direct supervisor immediately for guidance. All other employees should work remotely.
Additionally, summer camps scheduled for July 16 are cancelled with the exception of Cheer Camp, which will be housed in the Campus Recreation Center.
Additional updates on operations for Thursday, July 16
- Buildings with services will be opened on a modified schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. All other buildings will be closed.
- Campus shuttles will operate on their regular schedule starting at 7:15 a.m.
- The July 16 New Student Orientation for admitted transfer students is canceled. Students registered for that orientation will be notified by email with next steps.
- The Welcome Center will be closed, and any scheduled campus tour has been canceled.
- One Stop will not be offering in-person services tomorrow. Phone and email support will remain available during normal business hours.

- The John Peace Library (JPL) will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight and the Downtown Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The Financial Aid and Fiscal Services offices will be closed, following the same protocol as the One Stop office, with employees working remotely.
- The Roadrunner Café will open at 7:30 a.m. Adjusted retail dining hours can be found at MyDiningHub.
- Downtown dining at the Frio Building and One Riverwalk Place will be closed.
- The Campus Recreation Center will be closed.
- The campus bookstores on the Main Campus and Downtown Campus will be closed.
- The Student Union will be closed.
- The Tech Cafe Call Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and all operations will be fully remote.
- Wellness 360 will open at 8 a.m.
- The University Career Center will be working remotely on Thursday per UT San Antonio guidelines. At this time, in-person operations will resume on Friday.
- The Institute of Texan Cultures will remain open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Southwest Campus community art classes will be cancelled.
- Testing Services will be operating virtually.
- One Riverwalk Place will be open for normal operations.
- The Center for Military Affiliated Students (CMAS) will not be offering in-person services. Phone and email support will remain available during normal business hours.
- Academic Advising will only offer virtual appointments. All students with in-person appointments have been notified via email.
University leaders continue to monitor weather conditions and are working closely with local emergency management officials. The safety of our students, faculty and staff remains our highest priority.
Please avoid unnecessary travel, and never drive through flooded roadways or high water. Continue to monitor local weather conditions and follow guidance from public safety officials.

UT Health San Antonio and the Health Science Center
Information regarding operations at the UT Health San Antonio and the Health Science Center campus, including clinical locations, will be communicated separately through UT Health San Antonio Alert, HSC Alert, and university email and text notifications.

UT San Antonio is aware that a small number of our students were impacted by damage to an apartment community near campus following this morning’s severe weather. We’re grateful that no injuries have been reported, and all participants attending summer camps on campus are accounted for and safe. University staff are working closely with UT Police, the San Antonio Fire and Police departments, and the American Red Cross to support affected students and connect them with needed resources.
As heavy rain and flooding continue in parts of our community, please use extreme caution. Do not drive through flooded roadways or high water, and follow guidance from local emergency officials.

The UT San Antonio Student Emergency Fund may provide limited financial assistance to students experiencing emergency situations.
Similarly, the Roadrunner Staff Emergency Fund offers limited financial assistance to employees facing temporary hardships or emergencies.
