Dr. Kathryn Keeton, vice president for presidential initiatives and chief of staff at UT San Antonio, will leave the university in September to join Howard Energy Partners as vice president of learning and development.
Keeton has served in senior leadership roles in the Office of the President, first at UT Health San Antonio and most recently at UT San Antonio. In her role, she has worked closely with President Taylor Eighmy and members of the President’s Cabinet to advance presidential and institutional priorities and support the university’s leadership through a period of significant change, including the integration of UTSA and UT Health San Antonio.
“Kathryn has been a trusted colleague and advisor during an extraordinary period for our institution,” Eighmy said. “She has provided thoughtful counsel and steady support to me and our leadership team while helping advance many of our key priorities. I am grateful for her partnership and service to UT San Antonio, and we wish her tremendous success in this next chapter.”
As vice president of learning and development at Howard Energy Partners, Keeton will build out the organization’s learning and development function, helping develop its people and leaders and strengthen the organization’s capabilities as it enters a period of significant anticipated growth.

Keeton’s transition from UT San Antonio will begin the week of September 7. The university will launch a search for its next vice president for presidential initiatives and chief of staff in the coming weeks.
