The UTSA Academy of Distinguished Researchers’ Speaker Series will host Nicholas A. Peppas, at 4:30 p.m. today, in the Business Building’s Richard Liu Auditorium (BB 2.01.02) on the UTSA Main Campus.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend this free lecture by Peppas about “The Future of Intelligent Biomaterials Research in a Changing, Diverse and Inclusive World.”
Peppas, a professor of cellular and biomedical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, is the director of the Institute for Biomaterials, Drug Delivery and Regenerative Medicine.
“Audiences are exposed to the thoughts and insights of some of the most prominent scholars of our time.”
“I look forward to sharing with other scientists the excitement in the field of intelligent biomaterials and how we can use them for the improvement of the quality of life of our patient,” said Peppas. “We seek to design new intelligent biomaterials in the medical and biological fields to improve medical devices and to contribute to better treatment methods of patient diseases. In the long run, there is no better satisfaction for a scientist than the improvement of the quality of life of our patients.”
A reception will follow the lecture at 6 p.m. in the Business Building’s University Room (BB 2.06.04).
The Academy’s Speaker Series highlights presentations by highly accomplished researchers outside the institution in all fields of scholarly activity.

Speakers will be selected from all research-based academic areas.”
