SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 — Editor’s note: The following message was sent today via email from Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos to UTSA Athletics ticketholders and donors:

We are excited to welcome our incredible UTSA fans back to the Alamodome this Saturday for our home opener against Lamar. Coming off a thrilling 37-30 win against Big Ten Conference opponent Illinois last Saturday night, we expect a loud and passionate home crowd for the 5 p.m. kickoff. Tickets are still available by calling or texting (210) 458-UTSA (8872) or by clicking here.

As you may have read in today’s message from President Eighmy, the rallying call “Come and Take It” will no longer be used in any form by the university or by UTSA Athletics. As we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the first season of UTSA football, throughout the fall we plan to honor the history of our program in several ways, including by recognizing those who have been instrumental in building our program. Beginning this Saturday during the break between the third and fourth quarters, we will recognize past players, coaches and community members who will enter the field as a special tribute video highlighting the past 10 seasons plays on the video board. We will also host a reunion for our past players and coaches during Homecoming on October 16.

We need all of our fans to help honor our football program’s history and also keep our home-field advantage alive during each home game in 2021. Our student-athletes certainly feed off the energy from all of you and we can’t wait to see you on Saturday!
