In the midst of a milestone year marked by a historic merger, UT San Antonio employees from across the academic and health campuses came together to raise over $485,000 for the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC).
The impact of this accomplishment was widespread — the dollars raised were shared across 300 charitable organizations, and over 1,800 individual employees participated in the annual fundraiser.
Causes supported by employees saw broad participation across the entire university.
The San Antonio Food Bank proved to be employees’ top selection, receiving over $40,000 in donations.
Six participating internal initiatives also saw strong support, including the Roadrunner Food Pantry, Chromosome 18 Registry, First-Gen & Transfer Student Programs, Fostering Futures Program, and Staff Emergency Funds.
UT San Antonio has participated in the SECC since 1997 and is the largest donor in the region. The university leads the UT System in total amount raised, a testament to the strong employee spirit of giving.
