Well-Being Day returns on March 25 to support UT San Antonio students

UT San Antonio will be hosting Well-Being Day events on Wednesday, March 25, to give students an opportunity to learn about resources that support all dimensions of well-being — including intellectual, emotional, physical and social.

The day will feature virtual and in-person events across multiple campuses, including group exercises at the Campus Rec, a picnic at One Riverwalk Place, Get Involved Fairs at the Main Campus and UT San Antonio Health Science Center, and even an opportunity to meet some friendly goats at the Downtown Campus. The full schedule is listed on the Well-Being Day webpage.

Well-Being Day is a direct result of the recommendations made by the Enhancing Well-being Initiative task force. The group, established in 2024, conducted a comprehensive review of the university’s undergraduate and graduate student experience and evaluated how university programs, policies and practices impact student well-being.

The task force gathered student feedback and identified ways to enhance and expand the university’s well-being programs. The university began implementing the recommendations of the task force this year with the implementation of a new Fall Break for students as well as the first Well-Being Day held last October.

In addition, UT San Antonio has shown its commitment to student well-being by establishing a student-led chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, which helps reduce stigma around mental health through a peer-to-peer education network. The university also became a JED Campus by joining a national network of colleges and universities committed to strengthening student mental health, and is piloting a coaching program to provide tailored support for neurodivergent students.
