(Aug. 2, 2018) — The UTSA football team officially reported for its eighth fall camp in program history, its sixth as a member of Conference USA and third under head coach Frank Wilson on Thursday morning at University Oaks on Main Campus.

A total of 106 Roadrunners are expected to start practices on Friday in preparation for the 2018 season opener at Arizona State, which is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 1, in Tempe, Ariz. UTSA then returns to San Antonio to host Baylor at 6 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Alamodome.

UTSA returns 36 letterwinners, including 12 starters (4 offense/6 defense/2 kickers) from last year’s squad that finished with a 6-5 record. Included in that group are preseason All-Conference USA selections Kevin Strong Jr. (senior defensive lineman) and Josiah Tauaefa (junior linebacker).
