(Feb. 15, 2019) — UTSA President Taylor Eighmy today announced the members of his newly established President’s Student Advisory Council.
Council members will be called upon to provide the president with diverse insights into the student experience at UTSA and act as a sounding board for new ideas and university strategic initiatives.
The group of 20 undergraduates were selected from a slate of nominees put forth by the deans of each college and other campus administrators. Representing a broad array of academic programs, co-curricular experiences and demographic backgrounds, members will serve one or two-year terms, depending on their expected graduation date.
“Hearing from students is important to me,” said Eighmy. “I am eager to work with this outstanding group to share ideas on ways we can continue to enhance student success at UTSA. Their counsel will be invaluable as we shape our institutional priorities moving forward.”

A mechanism for President Eighmy to gather input from UTSA’s graduate student population will be developed upon the arrival of UTSA’s new vice provost for graduate studies and dean of the Graduate School, Ambika Mathur.
