(April 11, 2019) — UTSA senior Julie Houston has been named to the InTouch Credit Union Conference USA All-Academic team for the second straight year.

Houston is one of five student-athletes named to the squad, which honors student-athletes who embody academic and athletic excellence from the sport of women’s golf.

A native of Allen, Texas, Houston boasts a 3.87 GPA as a marketing major and is on track to graduate this May. A C-USA All-Academic Team honoree a year ago, she is a three-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar and has earned three C-USA Academic Medals. A member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll each year, she was named UTSA’s 2017-18 Hathaway Academic Female Athlete of the Year.

On the course, Houston is the reigning 2018 C-USA Individual Champion and a three-time all-conference selection. She collected first-team all-league accolades last season after helping lead the Roadrunners to the C-USA title and an NCAA Regional appearance. Houston was a second-team honoree as a sophomore after being named 2016 C-USA Freshman of the Year and third-team all-conference following her debut campaign. A five-time C-USA Golfer of the Week, she shares the school record with three career wins.

This season, Houston ranks second on the team with a 74.04 stroke average to go along with three top-10 finishes, giving her 13 for her career. She shot a 5-under-par 208 (71-68-69) to finish as runner-up and help the Roadrunners win the Texas State Invitational and she tied for fourth with a 218 (73-72-73) to help lead UTSA to the Lady Maxwell Invitational team title.
