(May 2, 2019) — UTSA is holding two public meetings this month to share an initial draft of the Campus Master Plan, which will guide the development of UTSA’s campuses over the next decade, supporting world-class instruction and research to meet the needs of a growing population.

UTSA has been in the process of gathering input from students and their parents, faculty, staff, alumni and the community for the Master Plan since 2018. UTSA’s Master Plan Steering Committee and a campus planning consultant team led by Page have evaluated the broad stakeholder input and developed draft recommendations for the Main Campus, Park West, and the Downtown Campus. These draft recommendations to support growth and excellence at both campuses will be discussed at public meetings on May 6 and 7, 2019.

The Public Meeting for the Downtown Campus will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at the Guadalupe Theater, 1301 Guadalupe Street, San Antonio, Texas 78207.

The Public Meeting for the Main Campus will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Rawlinson Middle School, 14100 Vance Jackson, San Antonio, TX 78249

The major elements of the plan that will be presented will include:

  • Student Housing
  • Open Space
  • Additional Facilities, i.e. athletics, recreation, event venues, etc.
  • Transportation

At the upcoming public meetings, attendees will learn how feedback received during previous community forums held in January was used to shape the initial plan recommendations. The May forums will provide another opportunity to discuss particular topics in greater detail.
