(Sept. 13, 2019) — After six years of planning and preparation The University of Texas at San Antonio students, faculty and staff will have their own University Center. The new University Center will open July 15, 1986, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Construction on the project began in January 1985 with a project cost of approximately $4 million.

“The building was designed to be a people place,” Jane Duckworth, UTSA director of student activities, says.
