Oct. 15, 2019 — Today is the day! It’s SECC Challenge Day for all employees of UTSA and UT Health San Antonio. These two groups are facing off in a participation challenge to raise funds for the State Employee Charitable Campaign. The institution with the highest participation from all its employee donors at the end of the day wins.
“This is an important day for us, Roadrunners,” said President Taylor Eighmy. “We have an opportunity now to contribute to those organizations that need our help. This year we have a bold plan to increase our donations by 25% and meet a new goal of $177,000.”
No matter the outcome when today is up, though, the real winners are the groups selected by employees to receive their donations and support. There are so many ways to donate online and select from over 500 different charities. You may desire to help find the cure for a disease, provide food for the hungry, help to build the Hispanic Scholarship Fund or even provide care for foster animals. There are so many needs and a higher participation today gets UTSA closer to meeting them with our collective voice.
