(July 29, 2019) — The UTSA Alumni Association will kick off the 2019 football season in a new tailgating area. Alumni and friends can find the association this season in the heart of it all, Alamodome Lot C, along Cherry St. between Wyoming St. and Dashiell St.

Food, beer, games and camaraderie, along with visits from UTSA Cheer, Rowdy and the Spirit of San Antonio marching band, will start three hours before each home game.

The first tailgate of the season will be celebrated before the UTSA Football game against the University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday, Aug 31. The tailgate will begin at 2 p.m.

Steve Woodall, Interim Executive Director of the UTSA Alumni Association, is excited to introduce alumni to their new tailgating home.

“Our members and alumni wanted us to be central to the game day experience, and being in Lot C makes that possible,” Woodall said. “We will have sausage, beer and the usual UTSA spirit activities. The venue may have changed, but we’re still going to get Rowdy.”

Home tailgate admission is free to all UTSA Alumni Association members. Non-member adult admission is $20 and children 16 and under are free. Anyone who wants to get Rowdy is welcome.

In addition to supporting Roadrunners Football at home, the UTSA Alumni Association will also host tailgates in advance of the away games at Baylor, University of North Texas and Texas A&M. Information on those tailgates will be emailed soon to all alumni and posted on UTSA Alumni Association social media, @UTSAAlumni on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The UTSA Alumni Association serves and engages Roadrunner alumni to foster their lifelong connection to UTSA. It is a strategic partner with the university and supports today’s students, UTSA’s future alumni.

The Association offers valued opportunities for connection and growth to its members, and its programs generate support and goodwill and build pride and tradition for UTSA.

The Association leads a growing Roadrunner Nation that is loud, proud and Rowdy.
