UTSA Roadrunner Days Schedule: August 27

(Aug. 27, 2019) – Classes are in full swing at UTSA and the excitement continues during Roadrunner Days, a 16-day celebration to guide new and returning students into a successful academic year. Today, the UTSA Main and Downtown Campuses are packed full of fun learning opportunities for all Roadrunners.

This year, UTSA welcomes new freshman and transfer students to Roadrunner Nation. They will take part in time-honored UTSA traditions, learn about valuable UTSA resources, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime, all important foundations to enhance the exceptional student experience UTSA fosters.

Here’s what’s going on during Roadrunner Days today:

Howdy Rowdy Bash Ticket and T-Shirt Pick up
8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Student Union Paseo, Main Campus

Students who purchased a ticket to Howdy Rowdy Bash can pick up their ticket and a t-shirt. Make sure you bring your UTSA ID.

Free First Day of Classes Pic: Tuesday Edition
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Student Union Paseo, Main Campus

Bring your smile and Birds Up! to the Paseo and take a photo to signify the first week of classes. Share photos with family and friends via social media using #UTSA and #UTSARRDays. UTSA Involvement Ambassadors will also be handing out goodie bags and students can learn about ways to get involved on campus.

Birds Up Downtown
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Bill Miller Plaza, Downtown Campus

All ‘Runners are invited to take in the city skyline while enjoying chalk artists, a giant rock wall, savory bites straight from the city, and much more. Worried about transportation? Don’t be! Sign up for the VIA U Pass, here, and ride for free as a Roadrunner. Need another UTSA shirt to add to your collection? Come early to get a limited number t-shirts!

Open House: University College
3 p.m. to 5 p.m., H-E-B Student Union Ballrooms (HSU 1.104/1.106), Main Campus

Students majoring in Multidisciplinary Studies, Academic Introduction & Strategies will meet key faculty and staff in the college, learn about research opportunities and connect with other student in the college and its organizations.

Open House: College of Architecture, Construction and Planning
3 p.m., Frio Street Building Riklin Auditorium (FS 1.406), Downtown Campus
4 p.m., Monterey Building, Downtown Campus

Roadrunners majoring in architecture, interior design and construction science and management will get better connected to their college during these casual meet and greets with professors, researchers and fellow students.

Open House: College of Sciences (COS)
4 p.m., Biotechnology Sciences and Engineering Building Atrium, Main Campus

COS students will meet key faculty and staff in the college, learn about research opportunities and connect with other student in the college and its organizations.
