SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 — The University of Texas at San Antonio is adding another Texas college to a program that eases the transfer process for engineering students enrolling at the university. The Blinn College District is now the third college institution to partner with UTSA on the Transfer Academy for Tomorrow’s Engineers (TATE).
TATE allows engineering students to be co-enrolled at two institutions, taking engineering courses taught by faculty at UTSA and the TATE partner college. Beginning this semester, Blinn students are eligible to participate in TATE engineering courses.
All TATE students benefit by having the opportunity to earn an associate degree in science while pursuing a bachelor’s degree at UTSA. Students will have access to student services, student activities and student organizations at both institutions. TATE also provides an affordable four-year pathway to a UTSA engineering degree.

“The TATE program continues to address the workforce needs of our area while also addressing the needs of transfer students to finish their education in a guided and timely manner,” said Arturo Montoya, associate dean of the UTSA College of Engineering and Integrated Design (CEID). “We welcome Blinn College as our newest TATE partner.”
Jennifer McDaniel, associate director of recruitment for CEID will spearhead recruitment for the TATE dual enrollment program. The program is supported by a cross-campus TATE oversight committee that will collaborate to ensure its success.

As one of the fastest-growing engineering colleges in Texas, UTSA creates an atmosphere of innovation, research and collaboration. CEID offers six engineering-focused Bachelor of Science degree programs. UTSA also has TATE partnerships with Northwest Vista College and Lone Star College.
