More than 34,000 students will return to the UTSA Main and Downtown campuses today for in-person learning, heralding an end to the three weeks of remote learning that kicked off the spring 2022 semester.
As students begin face-to-face instruction in traditional and hybrid classes, UTSA leaders will continue to monitor local, state and national COVID-19 trends, working closely with the university’s Public Health Task Force and with health experts at San Antonio Metro Health, the UT System, and health and government agencies.
Roadrunners who have not yet done so are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and get their COVID vaccines and boosters. On-campus clinics will take place throughout the semester, with the first to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, in the Student Union Denman Ballroom (SU 2.01.28). Masking is also strongly encouraged, especially while indoors.
UTSA’s mandatory testing program will remain in place throughout the spring semester. Visit the Roadrunner Roadmap website for the latest testing requirements, including policies for asymptomatic and symptomatic testing, testing locations and hours, and self-reporting protocols.
To ensure accessibility, many offices will continue to offer virtual options for student services. Students are encouraged to check office websites for the latest information on in-person and virtual offerings as the spring semester progresses.
The return to campus also means a return to the academic and co-curricular activities inherent to the on-campus experience. UTSA Ambassadors, the Honors Alliance and the Engineering Ambassadors will hold a Find Your Way On Your First Day event to help students learn their way around campus. Research activities will continue.
