With a very strong cold front bringing freezing temperatures, high wind gusts and the potential for ice accumulation to the area, all UTSA classes including in-person teaching will shift to remote online learning on Thursday, February 3. This includes labs and other in-person programs. There will be no in-person day or evening classes on Thursday.
For students living on campus, dining facilities will remain open. Also, the Recreation Wellness Center, Student Union, UTSA Libraries and Wellness 360 will be open beginning at 10 a.m.
Campus shuttles will not be operating on Thursday.
Employees with essential job functions should report to work on-campus on their regular schedules. All other employees will shift to remote operations. Contact your supervisor if you have questions.
The Livingston Labs location on the Main Campus will not be open for COVID testing. Its Sonterra location will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday. Bitterly cold temperatures and single-digit wind chills are forecast Thursday through Saturday morning.
UTSA will continue to monitor conditions and provide additional information on campus operations and classes as needed.
Updates will be posted on UTSA Today and on the university’s official social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
